Darren is a mindset and habit change specialist with over 30 years experience. He was formerly a psychology lecturer at Liverpool University, personal trainer in Australia, trainer or trainers having retrained more than 3000 health and fitness professionals around the world. Darren holds an undergraduate degree in sport & exercise science and a masters degree in sport psychology.
Allison is a women's nutrition and motivation coach as well as certified menopause weight loss specialist, again with more than 30 years experience in the UK and overseas. She has a degree in sports science and has helped countless women around the world to get their confidence back and feel comfortable again in their own skin.

What is self-sabotage and how will you stop mine?Watch - Or Read - Self-sabotage is the subconscious i.e. unintentional sabotaging of your best efforts. It occurs when your actions and in this case eating behaviours don't match up to your default ways. Your default ways are the conditioned ways you use food and drink inside of your life. Like a heat-seeking missile your behaviours always self-navigate back to this pre-set default until you change it. We help you change your default, the one you always go back to when you fall of the band wagon as it were or face long and tiring or out and out stressful days. We help you change your default though our 3-Step Altered State Training. Our approach is taught over the weekend retreat and reinforced during the 6-month follow-up coaching afterwards.

Why do I emotionally eat (and drink) and why can't I stop?Watch - Or Read - When we associate eating and drinking with pleasure whether socially or as a coping mechanism i.e. comfort eating we produce dopamine in our brain, which over time conditions us to crave these foods in anticipation of the dopamine response expected. To reverse this reward pathway, you will need to recondition your mind, focus on a specific way of eating to nourish not restrict your metabolism and associate pleasure i.e. enjoy what you are eating and drinking to reassociate dopamine production with your new way of eating.

You likely struggle because your body doesn't burn body fat very well. When you eat in a way to better control the hormone insulin and retrain your body to burn fat as fuel you will convert your body into a fat burning machine. Why dieting does not work but makes things worseWatch - Or Read - Dieting often restricts calories and fat forcing your body to lose weight but not necessarily fat. It reduces its metabolic rate, craves calories and nutrients and in the end leaves you fatter than when you started. For the sake of your longer term health as well as short term results now, dieting is not the way.

What is your 3-phase accelerated fat loss strategy?Watch - Or Read - Phase one is all about lowering your carbohydrate intake and increasing your fat consumption to teach your body to burn fat rather than carbohydrates i.e. the calories in food as fuel. Then phase two lowers fat intake to create a calorie deficit as your body uses its own fat stores to supply the difference. You are not a fat burning machine and can effortlessly burn fat as fuel. Phase three is about introducing some flexibility to enable you to easily move between using calories in your food or on your body as fuel. This is called metabolic flexibility, the key to sustainable weight loss and ongoing weight management i.e. keeping it off.
